dihydroxyacetone phosphate to glyceraldehyde phosphate

isomerase

The enzyme isomerase can covert dihydroxyacetone phosphate to glyceraldehyde phosphate and can carry out the reverse reaction. During glycolysis the dihydroxyacetone phosphate is converted to glyceraldehyde phosphate.

Thus for each molecule of glucose, two molecules of glyceraldehyde phosphate are produced.
