Rotational Projects

Students will learn how to do energy audits and carbon footprints on a variety of scales. Students will do longitudnal studies on the various components of the global efforts to change energy sources from reliance on fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. In doing so, students will investigate ways to quantify global environmental impacts and apply the scientific method on issues that traditionally are outside the scope of science. Students are finding themselves wondering if in doing so they are doing physics. They soon realize that, whatever the label, the work is important, researchable, publishable and requires the set of skills on which they were trained.
