Our laboratory employs state-of-the-art fluorescence spectroscopic approaches for investigating interactions between complex biomolecules. Efforts are currently focused within three major research areas, with five active research projects in progress:

Lipid-Lipid Interactions
Project One: Submicrosecond dynamics of lipid domain formation
Project Two: Interaction of novel surfactants with membranes for use in membrane protein reconstitution.

Protein-Protein Interactions
Project Three: Protein folding and unfolding pathways of dimeric bovine plasma amine oxidase.

Protein-Nucleic Acid Interactions
Project Four: Mapping the viral DNA binding site of HIV-1 integrase.
Project Five: Studies of G-quadruplex DNA structures for inhibition of human telomerase activity.
