On-Line Class Discussion
There is a web-based discussion site for
Classics 15. To access this forum go to the College's Caucus
Center and click on "self-register." After following
the instructions, click to see the list of all available conferences
and join the "Classics 15 Fall 2006" conference.
Note: If you are registered in this section
you can log in, choose a username and password, and become a full
member of the conference, where you can post comments and questions
at any time. If you are not registered in this section, you may
still join our Caucus conference, but you will have "read-only"
privileges.
When you join Caucus, you will be asked to provide some information
about yourself. You may provide as much or as little information
as you wish, but you MUST give your full name so that everyone will
be able to tell who is posting what.
For instructions on using Caucus, click here.
You can get hands-on help in using Caucus by going to the Library
Cafe at any time. Just ask the staff to help you.
I hope that you will enjoy this kind of discussion. In an on-line
conference everyone can participate at their own pace, and at a
time of their own choosing. If you thought of a great comment after
class was over--or maybe you almost raised your hand but didn't,
or you raised your hand and I didn't see you--there is no such problem
here. What's more, it's easy to review what others have said already,
so that you can build on it and move the discussion forward.
The success of our Caucus discussions depends
on you. Also, the more you participate, the more credit you will receive--up to 5% added to your final grade in the course.
