| | Classics 15 Mid-Term Here is the mid-term review from fall 2006.
In many Greek and Roman myths basic aspects of human life are transformed in various ways. As one looks at more and more stories, patterns begin to emerge.
Two very important elements in many myths are the food consumed by humans and gods, and the conception and birth of gods and humans.
For the mid-term you will be asked to write an essay showing in detail how ONE of these helps us to understand what myths are about.
Your essay should stress both patterns in the stories and variations from these patterns. You should include material on the most recent assignments.
You may use a one-page outline (i.e., names and phrases but not complete sentences).
If you wrote on food for your paper, you may still choose this topic for the mid-term, if you want to pursue the topic further and have new things to say.
