EPHADRA HERB TEA

  1. Ephedra-5 grams (diaphoretic -stimulant)
  2. Apricot Kernel -5 grams (nourishes the lungs)
  3. Cinnamon -4 grams (warming)
  4. Licorice-1.5 grams (harmonizing).
This basic formula is used for people with a more Yang constitution suffering from common cold, asthma, congestion and arthritic and lower back pains. It is a warming formula designed to remove coldness from the lungs, which is characterized by clear mucus secretion. However, because the ephadra is an adrenal stimulant, it is inadvisable to prescribe this combianation to someone who is in a very weakened state.

The third formula is specifically for individuals whose constitution is between Yin and Yang, but who suffer from symptoms of cold, flu, stiffness, chills, persperation and fever. It is a combination of both cinnamon and ephadra teas headed by pueraria root (Kudzu), which is a cooling herb with diaphoretic-

Antispasmodic properties of special benefit to the lungs and gastrointestinal tract.
