This section is a photographic journey of the Chinese wet market and market scenes in New York City. (Oct-Nov 98') The whole of Chinatown and Flushing were preparing for the Moon Cake Festival during the photographing period of this project. My apologies if much of it's spirit is captured in these pictures. Please do note that this festival happens only once annually and therefore some of the scenes and foods captured here are seasonal. |

Chinese Imported dried goods. Although Chinese imports are all-year round, seasonal food items are imported during special occasions such as Chinese New Year, the Moon Cake Festival, and other Chinese auspicious occasions. |

A Chinese Fruit stand selling tropical fruits such as Laici, Longan, Fuji apples, chestnuts, peanuts and others. One thing I find completely awkward is for the fact that Chinese fruit stalls have a distinctive display setup that do not follow Western color arrangement principles, as well as ignoring the "fruits-only" rule. |
