TELLS OF 40 TO 50 REDS ON COLLEGE FACULTY
New York... William M. Canning, respected history instructor, is shown testifying in Supreme Court, New York City, March 7, before the Rapp-Coudert legislative committee investigating alleged subversive activities in the city's schools.  Paul Windels, committee counsel, back to camera, questions him.  Listening are members of the committee (from rear to front:) Senators Roy Page, Frederic Coudert and John Buckley.  Canning was called back to the witness stand to expand his previous accusations, in which he had charged that 40 to 50 City College of New York faculty members have belonged to campus red units in the last few years.
