Menorah Not To Join
Anti-Fascist League
The Menorah Society decided
not to affiliate itself with the American League Against War and
Fascism by a vote of 18 to 5 at its meeting Wednesday.
After student
discussion led by members of the American League, Mr. Paul Gipfel of
the Classical Language department stated that he did not believe in the
affiliation of the Society with any outside organization. He produced
evidence, in the form of an article from the Herald-Tribune,
which showed the Fascists to be definitely anti-Semitic.
All students are
invited to attend the next meeting of the Jewish Student Congress
Sunday at 8 p.m. at the YM.H.A., 92 Street, New York City. Rabbi
Schultz, of Temple Ahavath Sholom, Brooklyn, will be the guest speaker
The J.S.C. is affiliated with the American Jewish Congress whose
purpose is the unification of Jewish Student groups..
