1. Frequently Asked Questions (and answers)

Q. Does a student in the Environmental Studies Program need to register with the school also?

A. Yes. Every student must register with Brooklyn College prior to registering for any course required for this program. To do so, you must contact the Admissions Office located at Plaza Building, Room 1203, or telephone them at 718-951-5001 to inquire of all admission requirements.

Q. Once registered with Brooklyn College, in what order should a student interested in environmental studies take his/her courses?

A. Introduction to Environmental Studies (ENVST 1) should be taken as early as possible in your college career. We recommend that you meet with an advisor as soon as possible to plan your program of study. Before registering for core courses, we recommend that you meet with a program advisor, as students majoring in environmental studies may be exempt from several courses in the core (in particular, Core 5 and one or more of the science Cores.)
