Discussion:
The Environmental Marketing and Management Option is designed for students who would like to apply their interest in the environment in the business world. Environmental regulation has created new opportunities for business, which include the opening up of new markets (green marketing) and the need to reduce the costs associated with waste disposal (environmental management). This degree prepares students for jobs in government and business, and graduate programs in business and law.
Description:
The program requires the students to take an introductory 3 credit course in
Environmental Studies (Environmental Studies 1)(to be taken no later than during the semester that follows their selection of a major) and a capstone seminar on Research Methods in Environmental Studies (Environmental Studies 75). The students will be required to take 7
credits from specified existing courses in Statistics, Mathematics and Computer and Information
Science; approximately 20 credits from laboratory courses in the Natural Sciences, 9 credits in
selected Business and Economics and elective courses in Business, Economics and Ethics. The students will be exempted from core 5 and
from at least two out of the four science core courses ( core 7.1, 7.2, 8.1 and 8.2).
