I. TRAVEL TO/FROM MUSEUM

The Museum is located in Manhattan on Central Park West between 77th Street and 81st Street, and can be reached by subway, bus and car.

SUBWAY: The Museum/81st Street is a stop on the "B" and "C" subway lines. If you use another subway line to travel to Manhattan, the 59th Street/Columbus Circle Station is a convenient place to transfer to the "B"or "C" train.

BUS: The Museum may also be reached by bus. The M10 bus stops on Central Park West in front of the Museum, the M17 bus stops at Central Park West and 81st Street, and the M7 and M11 buses stop on 79th Street at Columbus Ave (one block west of the Museum) and at Amsterdam Avenue (two blocks west of the Museum).

CAR: One can also travel to the Museum by car, but on-street parking in the neighborhood is hard to find. The Museum has a small parking lot, but it is expensive - about $15 - and usually is full soon after the Museum's opening at 10 AM.

II. MEETING PLACE: MUSEUM ROTUNDA

Enter the Museum through the main portico facing Central Park West (up the stairs behind the statue of Teddy Roosevelt) and proceed through the Museum's main doors into the Rotunda. Here you will see three dinosaurs displayed in life-like positions in the Rotunda's center island. We will meet at this center island, and the field trip will begin at this point. The 2nd floor, "Street Level", floor plan map of the Museum diagrams the locations of these features.

III. MEETING TIME: The field trip will start promptly at 11 AM.
