Lab #3: Cranes Page1

Cranes are large, long-legged wading birds. There are two types in the United States: sandhill cranes (Grus canadensis) and whooping cranes (Grus americana). Sandhill cranes are common in fields and marshes of the western part of the country. They are seen in the autumn migrating in large flocks. Whooping cranes, which number about 200 individuals, are an endangered species.
