GRADES

COURSE GRADE: The course grade is calculated as follows:
  • Assignments: 20%
  • Online Quiz: 20%
  • Exam 1: 30%
  • Final Exam: 30%
A curve will be applied based on the final average of the course (if applicable).

TOPICS COVERED ON EXAMS:

  • EXAM I: Minerals, Parts I and II; Maps, Parts I, II, III and IV
  • ONLINE QUIZ: Plate Tectonics
  • FINAL EXAM: Plate Tectionics and the Fourth Dimension I and II
MISSED EXAMS:
  • There will be no 'make-up exams'.

  • In the event you are absent from Exam I due to an extreme circumstances, an addendum will be added to your final exam covering the missed material. Note that you will forfeit your opportunity to add 5 points of extra credit to your midterm grade.

GRADES FOR YOUR ASSIGNMENTS

  • On the 'Instructions' web page for each assignment, you will see this 'link' symbol:

    Click on the symbol to find out how the assignment will be graded.

  • Assignments that are submitted on time and that receive a grade less than 7 may be resubmitted. Please see the rules for resubmitting assignments.

  • Please note that if an assignment is not submitted on time, it will receive a zero and may not be resubmitted.

  • Due date for assignments are noted in red on the 'Course Calendar':
