## WHERE ON EARTH?A LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE QUIZ

### Finding out the latitude and longitude of selected points on a globe

"What you need to do, Lou, is give me the latitude and longitude of the red, orange, green and pink dots! As you may recall, the latitude lines are shown for every 10 degrees, starting at the equator; the longitude lines are shown for every 15 degrees, starting at the prime meridian. And don't forget, both latitude and longitude are expressed as a certain number of degrees plus a direction - N, S, E or W!"

INSTRUCTIONS: Enter each answer in the appropriate box and then click the button to the right of it to find out if the answer is correct. Make sure not to enter letters or other symbols when numbers or numerical values are asked for. If letters are asked for, always enter them as capital letters. (HINT: The dots lie exactly at the intersections of the latitude and longitude lines shown on this globe. As a result, the answers for the 'degrees' must end in zero or five.)
