MY ANSWERS TO RELIEF PROBLEM 1

"Here are my answers! The lowest point in the area shown on the map lies somewhere inside the hachured 680' contour. Its elevation is between 680' and 660'. The highest point lies inside the 760' contour and has an elevation between 760' and 780'. The maximum relief of the area is 780' minus 660' = 120'. The minimum relief of the area is 760' minus 680' = 80'. Along profile G-H, the highest point lies somewhere between the hachured and unhachured 740' contours. Its elevation is between 740' and 760'. The lowest point along G-H lies outside the 700' contour. Its elevation is between 700' and 680'. The maximum relief along profile G-H is 760' minus 680' = 80'. The minimum relief along profile G-H is 740 minus 700' = 40'. You can see examples of maximum and minimum relief profiles drawn on the two grids!"
"Thanks, Lulu! What a relief to understand relief!"
