2. Is Lou's prediction that in the area shown on the map there will be no areas higher than 4 feet above sea level fulfilled?     Correct?:-

3. Has Lou's examination of the Floyd Bennett area supported the hypothesis that 'a sea level rise of less than 4 feet will cause large areas of NYC to be drowned'? (Do not include storm surge effects.)     Correct?:-

4 and 5. A copy of the Floyd Bennett area contour map is shown to the right. The approximate area that would be inundated by a four foot rise in sea level is colored deep blue. The blue area starts at the coast and extends inland almost to the five foot contour.
Under the map is a square whose area is roughly the same as the land area on the contour map. The square is partitioned to show areal percentages. These may be used to estimate the percent of the land area on the contour map that is colored blue.
The approximate percentage is: percent.     Correct?:-

6. The amount of damage caused will depend upon how much of NYC has an elevation of less than four feet. To find that out, refer to the maps of NYC that you examined in the 'Maps' and 'Landforms of New York City' exercises.
