Instructions for the Use of the 

"Mineral Breakage Exercise"

To view an image of a particular unknown mineral sample, click on a Mineral Button like the one here...  

Click on to see the form that fragments of the unknown mineral take when the sample is broken.

Based on the form of the broken fragments (and your previous online work) determine whether the unknown mineral would most likely have a crystalline architecture that is based on a chain-structure, a sheet-structure, or some other structure.

When you have concluded which structure is most likely for a particular mineral, click on the corresponding below the mineral pictures.  Your answer will appear beside the corresponding mineral button.

Complete all 10  samples.
