What is the Web Portfolio?
bulletshowcase for a student's participation throughout the semester
bulletA collection of a student's best thinking and writing on a variety of topics
bulletA chance to revise essays and selected Virtual Session postings

What might go into a Portfolio?

bulletSelected Caucus contributions to Virtual Sessions
bulletRevisions of essays
bulletAny special projects you may have done for the course

How should you compile a Portfolio this term  (Spring, 2003)?

bulletChoose Caucus postings that represent your best thinking on course issues
bulletEdit them to illustrate your writing skills
bulletOrganize them in a meaningful way.
bulletWrite an introduction that explains how you've chosen to organize the material
bulletPost the portfolio in the Caucus Portfolio item.
bulletInstructions: Use your word processor, copying some Caucus postings and pasting them into a word processor file. You may want to expand on some of your thoughts, relating one topic to another. The aim is NOT to  plug everything you ever wrote into the portfolio; choose just those topics that you consider most important for your own understanding of modern history.  Provide a introductory paragraph explaining the reasons for the way you've organized the material.
bulletREMEMBER: Unlike the weekly posting, all portfolio items should be carefully edited for proper grammar and spelling. Use your word processor checker and proofread.
