VIRTUAL SESSIONS

This page leads to the heart of our experiment in distance learning. Almost half  of the course will take place asynchronously - that means you are not limited to the classroom at an assigned time. For one class each week, instead of gathering in our Whitehead classroom to watch me lead a class, you will work on tasks on your own (or with members of a work group) on the Internet. I will list here a special assignment for each week. You can work on it at home or on campus at any time of the day or night. You must post the results of your work twice each week in our Caucus forum, the first by midnight Friday and the second before Tuesday  morning. Failure to do so will be equivalent to being absent from class when a quiz or test is given. In other words, you will receive a failure for that class. Remember, your participation will determine almost a third of your term grade.

It is best to begin work early. You don't have to wait until Wednesday to begin the work. If you have questions about the tasks you can E-mail me or raise questions in class or in the forum's cyber cafe. I encourage you to work on this material with others whenever you can.

Watch for email evaluations of your work for each session
