DIGEST--CORRECTION In the Chair's
Message of the April 2003 issue of The Senate Digest, it was stated that
Professor Robert David Johnson (Brooklyn College) had not published since
his tenure clock started at Brooklyn. That statement was not
accurate. Since 1999 he has published one book and eight articles or book
chapters, according to Professor Johnson's curriculum vitae as it appears
on the Brooklyn College website.* In addition to Trustee Pesile's remarks,
which the article mentioned, two trustees, Chair Benno Schmidt and Trustee
Randy Mastro, spoke strongly in favor of the action. Also, the Chancellor
that while the exact procedure followed in Prof. Johnson's case was indeed
rare, it was not rare for a college's decisions to be modified or reversed
in a grievance or arbitration process. The Digest regrets and apologizes
for the error. |
