The Papers of Irwin Shaw

Scope and Content Note

The Brooklyn College collection of the Works of Irwin Shaw consists of a total of 1 cubic foot of material in two series.  The first series consists of eight folders containing Shaw’s original typescripts of the novels Lucy Crown and The Troubled Air, with revisions made in the author’s hand.

The second series consists of two folders.  Contained in the first is “The Inhabitants of Venus,” a story of Shaw’s, published in the January 26, 1963 edition of the Saturday Evening Post.   The second folder contains reviews for the 1948 novel The Young Lions, as well as a review for its movie counterpart of the same title.
