3rd Floor Roosevelt Hall Hours as scheduled |
The Multimedia Classrooms now located in the Roosevelt Hall Library on the third floor are available for you to reserve for your classes. These Internet-enabled classrooms allow your students to learn using interactive modules on computers with advanced graphics and sound capabilities. Faculty may also use these rooms to teach their colleagues how to create multimedia applications using new media tools.
Pursuant to the guidelines developed by the Advisory Committee on Academic Computing, these classrooms serve as adjuncts to regular classroom meeting spaces: these rooms cannot be reserved for every class meeting throughout the semester. Instead, reserve these special rooms for those occasions when you need access to a high-end, networked, multimedia facility. (These guidelines will enable the rooms to serve the largest possible number of classes and students, across many disciplines.)
Reserving a Multimedia Classroom
Please arrange to meet with the Manager of the Faculty Lab, well before your inaugural class meeting, to address your special hardware and/or software needs for the classes you plan to conduct in these spaces.
General Instructions for Reserving Multimedia Classrooms
You have a choice between the Windows and Macintosh computer operating systems.
To reserve a room
for the Fall semester, submit your completed application by the last week
of June. To reserve a room for the Spring semester, submit
your completed application by the last week of November. To reserve a
room for the Summer sessions, submit your completed application by the
last week of March. To reserve a room for an occasional individual
session, submit your completed application as soon as possible before the
date of that individual session. (Three weeks is recommended.)
Even if you miss these deadlines, there is still a chance that space is
available. Please download and print the Multimedia Room Request Form PDF
file available at

by clicking on Multimedia Classrooms and bring it to the Faculty Training
and Development Lab (Roosevelt Hall 3R).
If you don’t have Adobe Acrobat Reader, download it for free from Adobe Systems or use the HTML version.
Confirmation of Room Assignment
You will receive confirmation (via e-mail, voice mail, or campus mail) of the room assignment within a week of the submission of your completed form. If the room is already booked for your requested time, you will receive notice of schedule conflict (via e-mail, voice mail, or campus mail). Your confirmation notice is your ONLY guarantee that the requested room will be available on the day(s) and time(s) requested. Therefore, your submission of an application to reserve a multimedia classroom is NOT a guarantee itself. Upon receipt of the confirmation notice, the instructor must meet with the Manager of the Faculty Lab for an orientation to the features of the classroom. Please arrange for all TA’s who will assist you in your class to attend the orientation.
