Government Documents and Microforms are located on the second floor of the Library directly opposite the stairwell. Brooklyn College is a selective depository receiving 41% of material available. Our holdings from 1976 to the present are included in the CUNY+ online catalog. Paper indexes are available for older materials.

Collection strengths are: census materials and other demographics, criminal justice information, economic information, education, health and human nutrition, international/foreign relations, law (federal and state statutes), Congressional materials (hearings, bills), Supreme Court decisions.

Documents formats include paper, microfiche and electronic formats including CD-ROMS and the World Wide Web. Some non-reference paper and electronic materials may be borrowed by members of the Brooklyn College community and its affiliates if they have general library borrowing privileges. Ask in the Documents Office if you wish to borrow materials.

An open stack reference area is adjacent to the Documents Office. A large portion of the paper collection is in a closed stack area. Please ask at the Documents Office if you do not find your material and need someone to get it for you in the closed stack area.

Microfiche materials can be read and copied in the Documents area.

Documents on CD-ROM are available on the Local Area Network. Select Government Documents from the main menu to view a submenu listing specific titles. Many other specialized discs are available in the Documents Office for Library use.
