- Museum Computer Network Museum Sites Online
www.mcn.edu/sitesonline.htm
browse a geographic index of actual and virtual museums, aquaria, historical parks, publications and other cultural institutions; entries include name of institution, city location, language, links to home page and e-mail contact and annotation if provided. Includes a sophisticated search engine that allows field specification, but because search works with very little text using search engine may be dissatisfying; don't use it if you are trying to find out the complete holdings of or a current exhibit at a particular museum, for example. The frames format is somewhat deceptive; be sure to scroll down past the information for the NHM of LA to find the geographic index printed in a large, clear font.
