ARTI--ART INDEX
ARTI covers 220 leading art publications from around the world and serves as a comprehensive record of art reproductions that appear in indexed publications. The index is a comprehensive and authoritative information source about the world of the arts from architecture to video. The database currently contains over 250,000 records and is updated monthly.The coverage of Art Index runs from September 1984 to the present.
BIOG--BIOGRAPHY INDEX
BIOG contains citations to biographical material in more than 3,000 periodicals and over 1,900 current books (annually). Biographical subjects indexed range from antiquity to the present and represent all fields and nationalities. Coverage: July 1984 to the present. The type of material indexed includes autobiographies, fiction (biographical novels), memoirs, drama, journals, pictorial works, diaries, poetry, letters, juvenile literature, interviews, bibliographies,and obituaries.
BKRV--BOOK REVIEW DIGEST
BKRV contains citations and provides excerpts of reviews of current English-language fiction and nonfiction books. An abstract of the book is also provided. Coverage is from January 1983 to the present. The file is updated monthly. The type of material reviewed includes current fiction and nonfiction, both adult and juvenile, in the humanities, social sciences, and general sciences. Reviews of textbooks, government publications, and technical books in the law and sciences are excluded.
BUSI--WILSON BUSINESS ABSTRACTS
BUSI provides access to 345 leading English-language business magazines. The index covers accounting, advertising, communications, computers, government regulations and many more topics. The coverage of Wilson Business Abstracts begins in July 1982 to the present. The index currently contains over 800,000 records and is updated monthly.
CURA--CURRENT CONTENTS ARTICLES
CURA contains article citations from the table of contents of over 7,000 journals, books, and proceedings in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Coverage is from November/December 1995 to the present. This database contains seven editions of the Institute for Scientific Information Curent Contents table-of-contents database. Subject areas covered are life sciences, agriculture, biology, environmental sciences, physical, chemical and earth sciences, clinical medicine, engineering, technology and applied sciences, social and behavioral sciences, and arts and humanities.
CURJ--CURRENT CONTENTS JOURNALS
CURJ is a multidisciplinary current awareness service of more than 7,000 journals, books, and proceedings in the sciences, social sciences, and the arts and humanities. Coverage is from November/December 1995 to the present. The database is updated weekly. Each journal issue is disassembled so that every significant item, including letters, notes, and corrections, will be included in the table of contents entry.
DDIS--DISSERTATION ABSTRACTS
DDIS is a comprehensive source of dissertation information covering doctoral dissertations and masters theses in all disciplines. This section contains citations and abstracts for dissertations and theses completed since 1980.
DNEW--NEWSPAPER INDEX
DNEW is a newspaper index database that covers 27 United States newspapers from January 1989 to the present. NEWSPAPER INDEX contains the following newspapers: Afro-American (bnaa), American Banker (ab), American Muslim Journal (bnmj), Amsterdam News (bnan), Atlanta Constitution (atc), Atlanta Journal Constitution (atcj) Boston Globe (bg), Call & Post (bncp), Chicago Defender (bncd), Christian Science Monitor (cs), Denver Post (dp), Detroit News (dn), Detroit News/Free Press(dnf), Guardian (mg), Houston Post (hp), Journal & Guide (bnjg), Los Angeles Sentinel (bnlx), Los Angeles Times (la), Michigan Chronicle (bnmc), New York Times (ny), St. Louis Dispatch (sl), Times-Picayune (no), USA Today (us), Wall St. Journal(wsj), Washington Post (wp) and the Washington Times (wt).
DPAC--ONLINE CATALOG
DPAC is the online catalog of the books, journals, audiovisual, and other materials in all City University Libraries. The holdings of each CUNY library are coded in index displays. The Brooklyn College code is BC. Articles within journals are NOT indexed in DPAC.
DPER--MAGAZINE AND JOURNAL INDEX
DPER contains citations from four periodical indexes produced by the H. W. Wilson Company. These four indexes cover over 800 journals. DPER covers the sciences, the humanities, the social sciences, and general periodicals. The beginning dates of the databases are General Science Index, May 1, 1984; Humanities Index, February 1, 1984; Social Science Index, February 1, 1983; Readers' Guide, January 1, 1983;
ERIC & ERIB--ERIC Documents & Journals
The ERIC database, produced by the Educational Resources Information Center, covers significant developments in educational research and practice published since 1988. It includes journal articles, research papers and reports, and is updated quarterly. The ERIB database covers pre-1988 publications. For comprehensive coverage, search both ERIC and ERIB.
EGLI--ESSAY & GENERAL LITERATURE INDEX
EGLI contains citations to essays and articles in collections and miscellaneous works published in the United States, Great Britain, and Canada. More than 300 volumes are indexed annually. Coverage is from January 1985 to the present. The file is updated semiannually. Subject Fields Indexed include archaeology, economics, music, architecture, fiction, poetry, art, film, political science, children's literature, folklore, psychology, classical studies, history, religion, drama, linguistics, and women's studies.
LIBR--LIBRARY LITERATURE
LIBR contains citations to articles in library and information science. Publications indexed include selected state library journals, books, conference proceedings, and more than 220 periodicals. Coverage is from December 1984 to the present. The file is updated monthly. Type of material indexed includes feature articles, special theme issues, obituaries, editorials (of reference value), interviews, letters to the editor (of reference value), notices of appointments/awards, reviews of books in library and information science, and regularly appearing columns.
MEDL--MEDLINE
MEDL, produced by the U. S. National Library of Medicine, covers all areas of medicine, including clinical medicine, experimental medicine, dentistry, nursing and many other topics. Coverage in the MEDL database is from 1986 to the present. The database contains over three million records and is updated monthly. Over 3,500 journals are indexed and most entries include an abstract. The Medline database resides on a computer in Dublin, Ohio so response time on CUNY+ differs from that for DPAC, DPER and DNEW. The connection to the Medline database is via the Internet. At certain times of the day heavy Internet traffic may increase response time.
TECH--APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INDEX
TECH covers every area of science, engineering and technology. It includes trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals. The coverage of the Applied Science and Technology Index begins with October 1983 to the present. The database contains over 600,000 citations, and is updated monthly.
