TN3270 INSTRUCTIONS

Following are Netscape compatible instructions to follow after you activate the link.

1. After clicking on the link, the TN3270 Window appears. You will see this form.

2. Type: cunyvm.cuny.edu and click on "OK". The Telnet Connection Window will appear. Then the VM/ESA screen will appear.

3. Use the arrow key to bring the cursor down one space to the right of the word COMMAND ===>

4. Type: dial vtam. The CUNY VTAM menu appears.

5. Type: cunyplus at the cursor. The CICS-MVS screen appears.

6. Clear the screen according to the instructions for your telecommunications software.

7. Type: lnav. The CUNYPLUS menu appears.

Anyone may use the CUNYPLUS database DPAC, the library catalog, from a remote location. If you want to use any of the other databases outside of the Library, for example, DPER, DNEW, etc., you will be asked to type in your social security number (without hyphens) when you request these databases from your remote location. If your Brooklyn College ID card has been barcoded at the Library and is currently valid, you will be able to type in your social security number and use any of the CUNYPLUS databases outside of the Library.

When you are through searching CUNYPLUS,

1. Clear the screen until it is blank.

2. Type: cssf logoff to leave CUNYPLUS and return to the VTAM menu.

3. Type: exit to logoff VTAM. Open Session Window will appear.

4. Click on the file drawer.

5. Click on "Close."

6. Click on file drawer in TN3270 Window.

7. Click on "Close."

8. Exit Window appears with statement "Do you want to save . . . ?"

9. Click on "NO." Telnet screen will disappear.
