The Project Director and Supervisor presented
a report for the meeting METRO's Advisory Board.

The Project Coordinator is preparing the 2002-2003
Work Plan which outlines our goals for the final DHP year of the project.

Advisory Committee member Jim Dyer introduced
Project Staff to Dr. Stuart of the Research Institute for the Study of
Man. Dr. Stuart We discussed to possibility of collaborative events.

Advisory Committee member Dr. Calvin Holder
accompanied the Project Coordinator on a meeting with Carl Rodney.

The Project Assistant continues to work diligently
and successfully on our Media Campaign. This month we have articles
in the Amsterdam News and Everybody's Magazine. Black
Diaspora Magazine has also agreed to do a story on the project.

We have began two surveys this month:
Kingston Technical High School Alumni Association and the Epiphany and
St. Simon Episcopalian Church. The Kingston Technical Alumni Association
is an affiliate of Union of Jamaican Alumni Association.

We continue to survey the papers of the Union
of Jamaican Alumni Associations and the St. Peter Claver Roman Catholic
Church.

The Project Coordinator was invited to an
event at the Caribbean Literary and Cultural Center. While there,
she was able to discuss some of the documentation issues surrounding the
Caribbean American Art world.

The project continues to contact and follow-up
with the historically significant Jamaican Progressive League and Tobago
Alumni Association. We have finally secured an appointment with one
of the few remaining members of the Tobago Alumni Association.

Academic research about the Jamaican, Trinidadian
& Tobagonian, and Pan-Caribbean community continues so that the survey
will accurately reflect the dynamics of the community.
