Progress Report - August 2001


  • Aftering having laid the groundwork for the Survey Project, the Project Coordinator left Brooklyn College to pursue further career development in librarianship.  Efforts are being made to identify and hire a new Coordinator as soon as possible.
  • An enthusiastic library intern from the University of the West Indies (Mona) completed her internship at the Brooklyn College library.  She greatly assisted the Project by making numerous follow-up calls.
  • Based on information received from the Deputy Consul of Trinidad & Tobago, letters and project information were sent to a large number of organizations. 
  • Letters and project information were sent to ten Roman Catholic churches and five Protestant churches.  A list of Episcopal churches in the target areas was developed.
  • Mailings and outreach to different organizations continued.
  • Follow-up contacts and meetings with organization leaders continued.
  • The Project web site was updated.
