The Perfect Progressive Tenses

 

Present Perfect Progressive: 

The action in this tense began in the past, continued for some time, and has ended by the present. 
The kitchen tap has been dripping. 

 

The Past Perfect Progressive: 

The past perfect progressive presents an ongoing condition in the past that ended by the time the sentence started. 
The kitchen tap  had been dripping. 

 

Future Perfect Progressive: 
This tense indicates that an action will begin in the future and will be continuing until some time in the future. 
The kitchen tap will have been dripping.
