 ' The Apostrophe 
A triple-layer pastry so light that you'll think that the only thing missing is your sccond piece.  

 

The apostrophe indicates:  
  
  • Belonging or ownership
If the word does not end in -s, add an 's to the form to show possession: Laura's hat  

 

If the word already ends in -s, simply add the apostrophe to the end of the word:  

 

workers' tools.  
(The apostrophe shows that the tools belong to the workers).  
  
  • The plural form of letters and numbers
I'm going to catch some Z's.  
Trying , my little sister shredded all the 6's from the deck of cards.  
 
  • Omitted letters: can not = can't could not = couldn't
