COMPITO PER IL QUINDICI FEBBRAIO DUEMILA SEDICI

Tasks highlighted with YELLOW: COMPITO SCRITTO or RECORDED SOUNDFILE (to be turned in)

Tasks highlighted with BLUE:  materials for study or busy-work exercises for practice (don't turn these in)

Task 1

Open OGGI-DOMANI

1. Read the dialogue and do all the busywork exercises on this page, including the interactive exercise.

LISTEN to all the soundifles and repeat them until you LITERALLY have them MEMORIZED.

2. Click the PRONUNCIATION link: listen carefully to the alphabet pronunciation, repeat outloud until you know it by heart.

LEARN how to spell your ITALIAN NAME and LAST NAME using the letters.

3. Scroll all the way down and find the Italy's map with the explanation how personal names are spelled in Italian.

LEARN  how to spell your ITALIAN NAME AND LAST NAME using the names of cities (and learn how to spell correctly the names of those cities.)

ORAL EXERCISES  2. 3. WILL BE ON THE QUIZ

TASK 2:

CREATE an MP3 or MP4 file (I prefer mp3 since mp4 is not a file format but a container that requires a specific codex that not all devices have)

READ OUT LOUD the materials in the task above 1.2.3.

The name of the file will be:  your-italian-name.feb17

TASK 3:

Open OGGI-DOMANI

Use the dialogue between the two characters as MODEL:

write a series of sentences about yourself along the same lines.

BE ACCURATE, PRECISE AND STICK TO THE TASK. Don't get too ambitious and creative: not yet.

I will send the compito for WED FEB 17 only to the students who will have completed this assignment first.

It will be sent out Monday afternoon: I want you to spread out your work over two sessions. I don't want a marathon session to complete the work of the week in one shot. It is not efficient, it does not help LEARN.

TASK 1

Click this link: read the table and write sentences about yourself using column n.3 as a model.

Stick to the script.

TASK 2:

On the same page, study VERBO ESSERE

Write one sentence for each VERB PERSON (io, tu, lui, lei etc).

SAY WHERE THEY ARE (make it up).

EX: He is in Washington.

If you want to get fancy you can say "Obama is in Washington" or "the pope is in ..... (where is he today?)"

YES, you can use the dictionary to find words like pope.

Obviously for each verb person you must use the correct form of the verb.

TASK 3

This will NOT be on the quiz.
