1. Create a folder anywhere on your computer (better if you place it on the C: drive,) name it <audacity>
2. Open the website  http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows
3. Click Download Audacity 1.2.6 installer and save the file in the <audacity> folder
4. On the same page, scroll down and click/download LAME MP3 encoder in the same folder.
5. Open the folder <audacity>
6. Click the <audacity-win-1.2.6.exe> file and install on your computer.
7. Launch Audacity
8. Click the red round button for a test recording. Click the yellow square button to stop.
9. Go to <FILE>  and choose/click <Export>
10. Name your file and click SAVE.

• At this point the computer will ask you to locate the LAME file.
• Navigate to the <audacity> folder you created, locate the LAME file and click on it.
• Your soundfile will be saved as MP3.

THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL HAVE TO OPEN THE LAME FILE

• Every time you create a file, you MUST click Export to convert it into the mp3 format.
