PREPOSITIONS
You
already saw a few prepositions in use.
In
Italia, a
Firenze, con
un amico
Although
it is generally possible to translate
prepositions from one language to another, their
use is often unpredictable and idiomatic. As you
can see in the example above, where English uses
the same preposition "in, " Italian
uses in with
the name of a country and a with
that of a city.
TRICK
To temember which preposition to
use, just think of:
" a
city in a state in
a country"
Con means "with"
You also saw da: do you remember where? Da has several meanings and it is
used often in idiomatic expressions.
