CUNY FACULTY DEVELOPMENT COLLOQUIUM New
Technologies in the Foreign Language Classroom FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10 You should attend if: You are interested in and intrigued but still intimidated by technology. You have been asked by a student who wont be able to make to class next week if she could email you her homework as an attachment. And what format do you prefer: Word, WordPerfect or Rich Text? You are afraid that you have already "missed the boat" on technology and think you could never catch up (yes, you can!) You are worried that to become
proficient you will have to invest a gigantic amount of
time and energy (no, you dont have to.) The workshop will address
nuts-and-bolts issues of FL Teaching Using email for group projects, pen-pal projects and listserve discussions. Using chatrooms activities and and bulletin board discussions (asynchronous) in your teaching. Helping students to conduct searches (guided, open, scavenger hunt) in FL original Websites.
