Most professors teaching this course will use the Spotify streaming music service to create the listening lists for their classes. The advantage with Spotify is that it has a large catalogue and it is free (with advertising support). It is also reasonably priced as a paid service for those who do not want to listen to ads and/or wish to listen (online or offline) on their "smart" devices (phone or tablet). A student discount is available.

Blackboard is the Online course management system adopted CUNY wide. Many professors will use Blackboard to communicate with students in their classes, grade assignments so that students may easily monitor their progress, and to give Online assignments. "Smart" device users may wish to invest in the Blackboard Mobile Learn App in order to have convenient access to their Blackboard courses and to receive instant notification when course materials are posted.
