3) Your favorite SPECIAL EFFECTS in the film INFERNO (open Blackboard - assignments) and you genuine overall reaction (in the past I had students using words such as "creepy" "weird" "wild" etc etc.) REMEMBER: shot in 1911, at the time it was the LONGEST MOVIE ever produced (and it is still the longest among the oldest still in existence.)

ASSIGNMENT

OPEN LECTURES 8 an 9

Familiarize yourself with Dante's COSMOLOGY (try to make sense of the images).

Find a good version of Domenico di Michelino's painting of Dante and identify details that refer to details of the DIVINA COMMEDIA.

Keep scrolling and try to put together for yourself a cognitive grid that will allow you to navigate the Inferno when we begin to study it.

REQUIRED: BLACKBOARD: SCREEN DANTE'S INFERNO (in Assignments)

REQUIRED: match the various circles of INFERNO with some of the sinners. Highlight the sinners whose names you recognize or that seem especially important. Take notes etc. In class I will go over it and ask questions.
