Linguistics and Education is an international journal which publishes original research and commentary on all aspects of the use of language in educational institutions and practices. The journal particularly emphasizes contributions with theoretical implications beyond any single specialized subfield of education and contributions which make use of sophisticated methodologies deriving from linguistic analysis or other approaches to the systematic study of language in use.

Manuscripts should be prepared according to APA (4th edition) style guidelines. Four copies, with information identifying the author(s) -- including full contact information -- appearing only on the first copy, should be submitted to the editorial offices, c/o: David Bloome, Department of Language and Learning, Box 330, Peabody College of Education, Vanderbilt University, Nashville TN 37203, USA.

The Editors are willing to advise potential contributors whether their manuscripts may be suitable for the journal if a single, preliminary copy is sent. After a manuscript has been formally submitted, it is reviewed by members of the Editorial Board of the journal or by other researchers with acknowledged competence in one or more of the fields and approaches relevant to the manuscript.

Book Reviews are solicited by the Book Reviews Editor, Stanton Wortham (University of Pennsylvania) stantonw@gse.upenn.edu . Books for review should be sent to him c/o Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania, 3700 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-6216.

Special Issues are published once or twice a year on themes or issues of special interest to readers of the journal. Proposals for special themed issues, to be co-edited by one or more Guest Editors, are welcome.
