Repeal of Club By-Law Requested at C. C. N. Y.
A report recently filed by
a committee of five faculty members at The City College expressed the
opinion that the Social Problems Club, the Student Forum, and the Liberal
Club "as at present conducted are not fulfilling a desired function at
the college." The committee declared that an open mind is essential in
any constructive study of social and economic problems." This characteristic
is missing in the instances in question, the committee asserted.
The faculty requested the
Board of Higher Education to repeal the by-law provision requiring the
attendance of a faculty adviser at club meetings.
