Hearst Condemned

Fifty Professors Form Group
       In Effort To Preserve
              Academic Freedom

            Fifty professors of City College met recently for the first session of the Anti-Fascist Association of the Staff of City College, and demanded a Federal investigation of Hearst newspapers, according to a recent article in the New York Post.

            This organization consists of faculty members. The resolution which was passed condemned the Hearst newspapers for advocating legislative acts "which would result in the absolute destruction of freedom of thought and discussion by teachers and students."

      "The Hearst program would reduce colleges to the ignominous condition of schools and universities of Hitler Germany and Fascist Italy," the teachers added.
