Union vs. Reaction
Chooses Officials
The Union against
Reaction, an organization formed by instructors of the day and evening
sessions of Brooklyn College, elected officers at a meeting held Friday
night in 69C.
Dr. Harry Slochower was elected
president; Miss Louise Miner was chosen vice-president; and Mr. David
McKelvy White was elected secretary. The group plans to combat
reactionary measures such .as retrenchment in education, war, and
fascism. They will invite speakers to address them on topics of
interest.
Although President
Boylan has not given the group official recognition, he granted
permission to use a room in the Court St. building for their first
meeting at which they heard Miss Helen Farrers speak on the condition
of educators in Europe today.
