Cuban To Discuss
Student Movement
Carlos March, a
prominent leader of the Cuban student movement, will speak on the
problems and activities of the Cuban youth at the Anti-War League
Wednesday in 2 t J.
Mr. March, student
leader of the University of Havana, "has come to this country to tell
American students about the activities and experiences of the Cuban
student movement in the past few years."
When the students
of Cuba began their campaign for lower tuition and lower transportation
rases, Carlos March was elected General Secretary of the Committee for
Free Tuition. In 1935 he led the strike of university students against
the dictatorial measures of the Medieta Government.
Jeremiah L.
Mahiney, president of the Amateur Athletic Union will speak to the
Anti-War League December 4 on the Nazi Olympics.
