The Reading Lab The ESL Reading Center. 1408 Ingersol Hall 951-5142 Since college life is largely a personal relationship with authors and the printed word, the ability to read fluently in English is key to academic success. Most students enrolled in integrated ESL courses (ESL 14 and 15) are required to work in this lab one hour per week for individual or small-group reading skills support. Lab materials cover summary, paraphrase, vocabulary enhancement, comprehension, test-taking skills, and exercises to increase speed. The lab is staffed by ESL faculty and tutors who are available to assist individual students and facilitate group work. |
