EBSCO   -  Includes Academic Search Premier, a scholarly, multi-disciplinary, full text database designed specifically for academic institutions.  Coverage includes nearly all academic areas of study - social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies, etc.

Cambridge Scientific Abstracts - Includes Social Service Abstracts (provides bibliographic coverage of current research on social services from 1980 onward) and Sociological Abstracts (research in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences from 1963 onward.)

Child Abuse, Child Welfare & Adoption Database - This NISC database  is a bibliographic resource on the maltreatment, safety, permanency and well-being of children.  Citations and abstracts are to books, journal articles, final reports from federally-funded grant, conference papers, unpublished papers, reports on completed or continuing research, as well as descriptions of service programs and prevention and treatment strategies.  Coverage is from 1965 onward.

Infoshare - Population statistics, immigration trends, socio-economic indicators,  birth and death data, hospitalizations, local trade data, and more for New York City.  Other regions are being added.

JSTOR
Offers full-text articles from the humanities and the social sciences.  Titles of special interest to those interested in Sociology are:  American Journal of Sociology (1895-2000), American Sociological Review (1936-1995), Annual Review of Sociology (1975-1995), Contemporary Sociology (1972-1995), Journal of Black Studies (1970-1997), Journal of Health and Social Behavior (1967-1995), Journal of Health and Human Behavior (1960-1966), Public Opinion Quarterly (1937-1995), Social Psychology Quarterly (1979-1995), Social Psychology (1978),  Sociometry (1937-1977), Sociology of Education (1963-1995), Journal of Educational Sociology (1927-1963).  There are also many sources on populations studies.

Social Sciences Abstracts   - Topics include Addiction Studies, Anthropology, Area Studies, Community Health & Medical Care, Corrections, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Economics, Environmental Studies, Ethics, Family Studies, Gender Studies, Geography, Gerontology, International Relations, Law, Minority Studies, Planning & Public Administration, Policy Sciences, Political Science, Psychiatry, Psychology, Public Welfare, Social Work, Sociology, Urban Studies.
  It is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere plus the full text of selected periodicals. Coverage includes a wide range of interdisciplinary fields covered in a broad array of social sciences journals. Abstracting coverage begins with periodicals published in January 1994. 
Abstracts range from 50 to 300 words and describe the content and scope of the source articles. Full text coverage begins in January 1995.

Sociological Abstracts - Sociological Abstracts abstracts and indexes the international literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. The database provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,700 serials publications, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers. Records added after 1974 contain in-depth and non evaluative abstracts of journal articles.
