His most famous book is Between the World and Me (2015). In 2016 it was chosen by Brooklyn College as "Freshman Commmon Reading." How Vito Anderlini became Vito Corleone and the beginning of his successful criminal career. Book 4: Sonny beats up Carlo (chp. 16). The war among the Families (17). Buonasera returns the favor to the Don (18). Book 5: chapt 20 is important, especially the scene with the Mafia bosses meeting. Here their "ideology" is fully disclosed: "I want to thank you all for coming." Chapter 22 is the worst in the whole book and you can skip it entirely (borders on gross, with Puzo's obsession.) Book 6: Michael hiding in Sicily "becomes" a Sicilian. This is like psychological regression to a primitive state of evolution. Book 7: chpt 25: Michael gets back from Italy, connects with Kay. Rationalization: "The trouble is all that damn trash in the movies and the newspapers" (about Mafia). Chpt 26: my notes say "the most useless chapter in the book." Fee free to skip. Chpt 27: Las Vegas and Fredo. Chpt 28: interesting because it shows that the don even cheated Johnny Fontane out of money (some honor, those guys!). The master plan for the future. Book 8: chpt 29-30: more planning, Albert Neri. Chpt 31: very important.
