About Us

The Office of Academic Information Technologies (AIT) is the Brooklyn College community's starting place for computing resources and education. Operating four distinct labs, AIT also offers a plethora of computing and academic related workshops, provides one-on-one help establishing blackboard course content, and provides help and equipment for everyday electronic roadblocks.

Students have their choice of labs: whether it is the always up-to-date New Media Center, the relaxed and quiet L4, or the casual ambience of the Library Café (CUNY's only 24 hour computer commons). Faculty have their own facility in the form of the Faculty training and development lab.

Blackboard, in recent years, has become an important tool for faculty of every discipline in recent years, allowing instructors to place syllabi, coursework, assignments, and all manner of information on-line... AIT is ready to help all instructors with formatting and loading this information with our dedicated multi-media/Blackboard staff.

For people looking to sharpen their computer skills, or those looking to begin their education with them, AIT offers an amazing variety of computer workshops throughout the year, covering topics such as the internet, and using Adobe and Microsoft applications.

The Office of Academic Information Technologies is run under the auspices of Dr. Howard Spivak.
