My Research Interest:

My Ph.D. research interest in on the basis of the elucidation of the three-dimentional structure of RNA molecules by X-ray crystallography.  Although the year 2000 showed to be a landmark in RNA X-ray crystallography after the determination of the 23S, 50S and 70S ribosomal RNAs, there is still a great number of RNA structures that have to be determined.  In fact, the contribution of the year 2000 can be considered as a small, yet exciting triump in the RNA field.

    A long-standing problem in RNA x-ray crystallography has been the derivatization of the molecule with suitable heavy atoms for phase determination.....
