Reading:

Gary Wasserman, "Who Wins, Who Loses: Pluralism vs. Elitism," 532- 539.

2. Identify four central pluralist concepts and discuss their implications.

3. Identify three examples of pluralist bargaining in the U.S. not listed in Wasserman's article.

4. What are the implications of pluralist theory's focus on the process rather than the results of political mobilization?

5. What are some of the criticisms of pluralist theory?

6.  Contrast the pluralist theory of politics with what we have learned about classical liberalism so far.  What are the differences between these theories' assumptions about the role of government?
