This section of Core Studies 3 is "web-enhanced." That means that all of the course material that is normally distributed in my class will also be available on the internet, including the syllabus, questions to accompany the reading, exam review questions, and essay topics -- everything but the lectures. Supplementary handouts, such as my research, writing, and citing guides (and all the links therein), are now only available on the web.

But in addition to providing an alternative means of distributing this basic and supplementary information, these pages (and you're on the "top page" now so you might want to bookmark it) will also provide new ways to engage with what you're learning in class.

First, you can access a lot of extra material through links in the syllabus, in the research and writing guides, and possibly in our conference, that will enhance the course material.

Second, you can communicate with me and/or with each other via email. Click here to find out how to get your student email account.

Finally, using software called "Caucus" you can discuss the class readings and lectures with your fellow students and with me asynchronously, without regard to time and space. These semester-long discussions will provide us with the opportunity to engage in discussions of some of the course's key concepts, such as freedom and power. The Caucus home page is linked on every page, as "Forum."  Our Caucus is called "Core 3 Currah." To join, follow the instructions from the Caucus Center, which you can get to by clicking here or "Forum" on the menu bar to your left.
