Assignment

Assuming that next quiz will not be cooperative, is your method of studying adequate for the kind of questions you found in the test?

For the last quiz, I think my method of studying was adequate but there are some things that I think I could do differently. I looked over the lectures and videos and tried to gain a better overall understanding of the concepts discussed. I think it helped me quite a bit for the quiz which was more about understanding and less on memorization. With the concepts that I did not understand, I did some research during studying that really helped me. I was able to get a clear understanding by watching some videos and finding some interesting websites that discussed Dante’s inferno. I think that finding other resources can help with understanding if what you are given, you feel is not enough.

Or if you need to change your approach, what would you do differently?

One way that I would change how I studied was I would rewrite my notes from class in a more organized way. I would also make sure to take notes of what is being said during lecture so I gain a better understanding. I would also try to study a few days in advance because I crammed a lot of what I was going over for the quiz the day before. Even though I had all day to go over the material that was going to be on the quiz, I think it would have been a lot easier and less stressful if I managed my time better.

Giovanni BOCCACCIO and FRANCESCO PETRARCA

Latin is still the language of high culture, philosophy, theology and science.
It is the language of international treaties and correspondence.

Local languages in Europe evolve separately: French (at least two major branches, Langue d'Oc and Langue d'Oil.

In the Iberian peninsula, several languages all closely related to one another developed: Portuguese, Castilian, Catalan etc.

A special case is the Basque language. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basque_language
